The Best Red Lipstick

I wouldn’t classify myself as a total beauty junkie, but I have always loved makeup! I’ve been using it since I was 11 and have enjoyed trying new products, techniques, and switching up my look for the past 20 years. And to me, few looks are more classic (or perfect for the 4th of July) than that of the Marilyn Monroe-inspired red lip. But the bold color can also be intimidating, so in order to make sure that it looks great, you want to use an amazing product. Which is why when it comes to this look, the best lipstick that I’ve ever tried is Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick.

This Chanel red color – Inimitable 105 – is bold without being orange-y, which would be horrible for my fair skin! And while the matte look is still trending, the subtle shine of this lipstick adds an element of luxury and feels more pretty than daring. I also appreciate how silky it feels on my lips and that it’s not thick in any way. It wears well, but in order to extend the color, I would recommend using lip liner first, then lining again with the lip color and finishing by filling in the rest of your lips. Wear this beautiful color for a holiday (like the 4th), a hot date, girl’s night out, or just because you feel like it!

The reds I would recommend are, of course, the color you see pictured here (Inimitable), as well as Passion and Coromandel. These two images are also have no color filter so you can get an idea of what it truly looks like. If you want to try the Rouge Allure lipstick, visit any Chanel boutique, Nordstrom, or Saks department store. Or just go ahead and buy it online at any of the included links 🙂

  1. IT is a great color on you…have you tried ruby woo from Mac? It is my go to red..and it is matte which makes it perfect, because it doesn’t move.

  2. I’m a huge fan of red lipstick! That color looks great on you. Have you tried Bite’s Gazpacho? It’s my go to red lipstick now.
