Amazing (and uncomplicated) Pina Colada Recipe

If there’s one drink that is synonymous with “beach”, it’s the coconut/pineapple concoction known as the pina colada. And while on vacation here in Florida, we couldn’t help but create our own! Check out the recipe we came up with below:

The Goods:

5 oz of pineapple coconut juice (no added sugar-see brand example below)

3 generous tablespoons of cream of coconut

1/2 ripe banana

10 ice cubes (or fill a Solo cup mostly full)

1 1/2 oz dark rum

Maraschino cherry for garnish

How To:

Blend juice, cream, banana, and ice in a blender

Pour into a glass

Top with shot of dark rum and stir

Garnish with the cherry

Side note:

For the pineapple coconut juice, I’d recommend L&A Juice since it’s 100% juice with no sweeteners added.

For cream of coconut, try Coco Lopez , it’s a pretty popular and yummy choice.

Need to skip the booze? Hold the rum and enjoy it “virgin”. It still takes delicious!

  1. I’m usually not a big fan of coconut but Pina Colada’s are the exception – they are so delicious! This looks like the perfect recipe for a get together I’m having with the girls next week. I love that there’s a banana in this drink so at least we’re getting a good dose of potassium haha 😉

  2. Yum! One of the best things about Summer is mixing up a pitcher of Pina Coladas. This recipe looks fabulous, so I’m definitely going to try it. The only thing I like more than a traditional Pina Colada, is a Melon Colada, which could easily be made from this basic recipe plus the addition of melon liqueur!

  3. Aaaah! I love pina coladas! They have always been a favorite of mine. I have never added a banana before, I will have to try that for next time. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Yummmm! I’ve been having pina coladas since I was a kid (the virgin version, of course!). I haven’t made them in forever so I gotta give this recipe a shot!
