What I’ve Relied on so Far During Pregnancy

So this weekend (Mother’s Day) began my 23rd week of pregnancy with my first little one! I know that’s over half-way, but I still thought I’d share some of the things that have helped me along over the last few months. If you’re expecting (or hoping to be) maybe you’ll find them useful too!

Even though I’ve felt pretty great for a while, in the earlier days of morning sickness I could ALWAYS fall back on cereal. You don’t have to get anything that’s “sugary” (although I thought it made a nice treat :D). Lots of brands now make cereal more nutritiously with whole grains and oats. It also makes for a good snack that you can throw in a Ziploc bag and take with you if you’re on the go and find yourself needing a little something.

Even as I’m starting to struggle to button my jeans, my leggings still fit great! As we’re moving into summer, I don’t plan on wearing pants very often (I’ll opt for dresses and shorts), but these will still be comfy for around the house. I love the pairs I have by Lululemon, but all of my leggings still work.

The What To Expect App

I’ve had this from day 1 of pregnancy and I love that there is new helpful content that pops up every day. The app also updates you every week on the size of your baby, their development milestones, common symptoms and more!

Fresh juices and smoothies

I’ve really been trying to make sure I get a few servings of fruit and veggies every day. Tossing them into a blender or juicer is an efficient and yummy way of doing that. For a good smoothie recipe that has both fruits and veggies, check out my recipe here.

Belli Skincare

After finding out I was pregnant, I wanted to make sure the products I used were safe. I found the Belli Skincare line and was so glad I did! Their spot treatment was great at clearing up any hormonal breakouts that decided to pop up. The company then sent me the face wash and hydrator and I found both to be gentle on my skin and lightweight. Plus, I love the citrusy smell of the hydrator! None of the products contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or benzoyl peroxide and are widely recommended by OB/GYNs. You can buy Belli products online or at buy buy Baby retailers nationwide.

  1. I agree with the leggings and cereal! All I craved was sugary cereals like Lucky charms and Captain crunch, made for a great middle of the night snack! Leggings were also the only comfortable thing to wear and long flowy dresses! I preferred the Ovia Pregnancy app over the What to Expect app though and I didn’t have any zits!

  2. Yes! Cereal and smoothies. I am now 38 weeks-it goes SO FAST! 🙂 I think I could eat a whole pineapple every day. I have just loved fruit this whole pregnancy. Best of luck to you and congrats! 🙂

  3. I have just hit my thrid trimester and found breakfast so important throughout the whole pregnancy (including helping with morning sickness) – I eat something the second I wake up! Congratulations on your bub bub!! <3

  4. Yes! Being 34 weeks tomorrow I could not agree with these more! I live in leggings and cereal (especially Captain Crunch or Frosted Flakes) always curb my sweet tooth!

  5. I think starting at 20 weeks with my twins, I made the 100% switch to leggings haha! I’m a stay at home mom though and I saw NO reason to be wearing jeans. 😉

  6. Oh my goodness, when I was pregnant I ate soooo much cereal. With my first pregnancy I was working weird retail shifts at random times, and every day I would have a bowl of cereal when I got home, no matter what time it was. I think I tried every flavor of Cheerios I could find! 🙂

  7. I’ve never heard of Belli brand! I’m not currently pregnant but will have to check them out! Best wishes on the rest of your pregnancy!

  8. You are looking great, congrats on being just over half way there! I always found the first trimester to be the worst for feeling sick, I didn’t think of the cereal tip – I ended up just chewing and carrying rice crackers everywhere. I had an aversion to dairy for a while so even the thought of a bowl of cereal would have made me vomit! haha!

Hope you are having a great start to the week! I just published my first eBook so the week is starting brilliantly for me! 🙂 It’s about pregnancy actually!
